Learning Experience Designer
Remote · 10–20 hours per week · Ongoing freelance engagement
We’re looking for a learning designer who can turn learning goals into engaging, effective experiences using Talkio’s authoring tools.
You’ll own content development across the languages available on Talkio: creating learning experiences, testing them, and improving them based on learner feedback and performance. You don’t need to speak every language. You do need strong language-learning judgment and a reliable approach to checking content beyond your own language expertise.
What you’ll do
- Create clear, engaging learning activities and sequences for different proficiency levels.
- Build and maintain content using Talkio’s authoring tools, MCP server, and AI workflows.
- Test the learner experience, including instructions, difficulty, answers, feedback, and progression.
- Validate linguistic and pedagogical quality across languages, identifying when specialist review is needed.
- Use learner feedback and performance data to identify problems and improve content.
- Develop repeatable workflows that help you produce excellent work efficiently.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in learning design, language education, curriculum development, or a closely related field.
- A practical understanding of language acquisition and how languages differ in grammar, writing systems, pronunciation, and usage.
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with AI tools, including checking their output rather than accepting it at face value.
- Experience with MCP or other tool-connected AI workflows—or the ability to learn them quickly.
- An independent working style: you can take a learning goal through creation, testing, and improvement.
What success looks like
Learners understand what to do, receive useful feedback, and progress through well-designed activities. Content is reliable across languages, and improvements are guided by evidence.
To apply
Share a brief introduction, your availability and hourly rate, and one or two relevant examples of learning content you’ve created. Explain your contribution and how you evaluated its quality.
Please also briefly describe how you would validate an activity in a language you don’t speak.
